UPGRADES & OPTIONS

Since the hope is to only have to use the storm shelter in rare occasions; the standard storm shelters are pretty basic. LED lighting, ventilation for fresh air and 4 rows of bench seating make the community shelter a very comfortable place to ride out a storm. They can be engineered to be wheelchair and handicap accessible, and they can be upgraded to have a centralized electronic unlocking systems for settings where there are multiple shelters located apart from one another., Although the upgrades are endless with our steel storm shelters, we’ve listed some of the features we commonly upgrade below:
  • Adding Storage Shelves or Safes
  • Adding Generators
  • Adding Solar Panels
  • Adding Bunk Beds
  • Adding Water / Sinks
  • Adding LED Lighting
  • Adding A Restroom/Toilet (composting or traditional)
  • Adding Weather/Emergency Radio
  • Adding Remote Locking / Security
  • Adding Secondary Exits

Our steel structured storm shelters come with a year industrial exterior coating which protects against corrosion and it allows these shelters to last for generations. There is no more worrying about corrosion, cracks, mold, moisture or collapses when you use steel combined with our coating. These shelters sit below the earth’s surface and are the SAFEST option in a tornado or extreme weather.

Recently in the state of Oklahoma headlines have been made regarding some of the recent tax cuts. Here is what was said in the Huffington Post:

“It would be nice if every kid in Oklahoma had a safe room to go to,” said Bill Pingleton, the superintendent in the rural town of Tushka, where the school and much of the town were destroyed by a tornado in 2011.

But top officials said the schools shouldn’t expect state help for shelters.

“Just adding on a new tax burden on Oklahomans is not the answer,” said Republican State Superintendent Janet Barresi, Oklahoma’s highest ranking education official.
